My name is Danielle Payne, I'm a 23 year old multimedia artist living in California. I work for the YMCA and I love my job, and my kids! I have a big passion for children, learning, and art, so I try and work with kids as often as possible and get them to feel the same excitement about art and learning.
I was born in Berlin Germany on March, 23rd 1988, the second daughter of two military parents. When I was 6 months old we moved to England, and this is where I have most of my first, and fondest memories growing up. I began drawing as a young kid just for fun. But as I got older, I realized that art was more than just a hobby for me, it was my true calling and my passion.
As I mentioned, I work with kids as much as I can, and there are several reasons for this. Growing up a military brat, it was hard to make friends and my parents weren't always around for me, so I relied on care providers for friendship. The people I knew as a child in daycare helped shape me into who I am today, and that's a powerful thing! I do what I do, because I was the kid who got picked up last from daycare, or had to get rides home from school with friends. I want children to know that they are loved, wanted and that they have worth! That is the most important and fulfilling aspect of my job.
